Hi, I'm Christopher
I'm a Christian with a PhD in philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I founded Christian Philosophy Academy to equip Christians to confidently address the hardest challenges to their faith. Below you'll learn a bit about my journey.
ABOUTÂ CHRISTOPHER
From Being on Academic Probation to Getting My PhD
It was my junior year of college when everything seemed to be falling apart. A letter from the university arrived—I was on academic probation, teetering on the edge of failure. My academic future looked bleak, and I was desperate for a lifeline.
Then I discovered philosophy: a world of big ideas, complex ethical challenges, and profound intellectual exploration. Something clicked. This wasn't just another academic subject—it was a way of thinking that transformed how I approached learning, understanding, and life itself.
My grades turned around. My perspective shifted. What was once an academic struggle became a passionate pursuit of knowledge.
I completed a master's degree and went on to earn my PhD, gaining invaluable tools for critical thinking, deep learning, and nuanced decision-making. Each challenge became an opportunity for growth.
Everything was looking up, but then....

I ventured onto the academic job market before officially defending my PhD, and the experience was a brutal wake-up call. One single position attracted 550 applicants—each brilliant and desperate for a chance.
The traditional path of becoming a tenured professor seemed like an impossible dream. Would I abandon my life's work? Surrender my passion for exploring deep philosophical questions about ethics, epistemology, and God?
Or could I find a way to share these transformative ideas more broadly? To bridge my academic training with my faith and create genuine value for others?
That's when Christian Philosophy Academy was born—a mission to democratize philosophical insights, making them accessible, engaging, and truly transformative. What began as professional uncertainty became a calling: to connect, inspire, and empower others through theological and philosophical thinking.

We are a community. A movement.
Christian Philosophy Academy is more than an online education service or a toolkit for improving thinking—though it is certainly that.
We are people who refuse to accept the status quo. We won't settle for spiritual or intellectual stagnation. Our mission is to use our minds to winesomly defend the truth of Christianity.
We don't need institutional approval to think deeply. We carve our own path. We think for ourselves.
Powered by passion and guided by reason, we use critical and creative thinking to spread truth, justice, and mercy. We steer with our heads while our hearts drive us forward.
Join us. Become a philosophical Christian.
