3 Keys to Unlock Swinburne's Resurrection Argument

Richard Swinburne argues that Jesus's resurrection is highly probable. In this video, you'll discover 3 keys for unlocking his argument. The first key is evidential. You must account for three kinds of evidence when evaluating a historical hypothesis: general background evidence, prior historical evidence, and posterior historical evidence. The second key is methodological. To the degree the prior historical and background evidence make the hypothesis likely you need less posterior historical evidence to make the hypothesis likely overall. The third key applies the first two keys to the case of Jesus and concludes, "we do not need too many witnesses to the empty tomb or too many witnesses who claimed to have talked to the risen Jesus, to make it probable that Jesus did indeed rise" (Swinburne 2013: 239).
